BIO

Gaël has a unique approach to the creative process, fostering innovation & design thinking, emerging tech & experience design. He has led, trained and built versatile creative teams across nations, agency networks and global clients.

Gaël excels with scouting, incubating and nurturing creative talents including creative strategist, art directors, visual & motion artists, digital technologists, film & video producers, storytellers and content creators.
 ​
With a love of travel and a passion for foreign cultures, Gaël has a very eclectic background. He has spent most of his life abroad, living and working in the most exciting parts of the world. He moved to Asia in 2000 where he spent 20 years travelling around the region.
 ​
After a decade living and working in Japan, getting married in Singapore, Gaël relocated with his wife to Shanghai three years ago. 

He helps clients to bridge the gap between consumer demand, market insights and the brand-product experience. His ideas are always grounded in strategic thinking, created with full awareness of the business issues that they need to solve.

Gaël consults directly with clients and collaborates with agencies, design studios and production houses. He helps with new business opportunities, creates advertising campaigns and digital platforms from integrated campaigns and digital product launches to system design and human-centred experiences.

Before running his own consultancy business, Gaël held a variety of global, regional and national roles, around the world reaching over 1 billion consumers in 1st, 2nd and 3rd economies: the US, China and Japan.

Due to Covid-19, Gaël recently moved to Europe with his family. He is currently working remotely between London and Lisbon.

Gaël launched the Global Innovation Team for Asatsu-DK - Overseas Division. He was responsible for securing new business for outbound Japanese clients across Asia, Europe and the US. The firm is Japan's third-largest advertising agency after Dentsu and Hakuhodo.

 

Clients: Pentax, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Sharp, Toshiba, Onitsuka Tiger, Kikoman, Honda, Ikea, Dominos Pizza, halls and Amino Water.

With a full decade of experience living & working in Japan, Gaël was instrumental in winning the BAT consolidated business in Japan for the creative powerhouse Ogilvy Action. Directly responsible for moving the BAT KOOL Global Creative Centre from New York to Tokyo under his leadership. 

Highlights include the launch of the award-winning New Product Innovation "Kool Boost" and the "Kool Discovery" Global Experiential Platform earning his stripes as a reliable, creative leader.

Gaël managed a small team of creatives working mainly on the Pernod Ricard creative business in Greater China. Brand include Chivas Regal, Martel and Royal Salute.

He created and produced several brand activation campaigns, limited-edition packaging design & promotions for duty-free and experiential platforms: Chivas Music.

Gaël managed a mid-sized team of 20+ digital strategists, creative directors, art directors, copywriters, content creators, UI/UX designers, web developers and technologists.

Highlights include the creation, development and production of OCBC digital brand guidelines, redesign of its online banking facilities, mobile products and in-store interactive devices at branches.

 

He also ran the day-to-day digital creative business for several existing clients while helping with new business.

As Creative Group Head, Gaël managed the day-to-day creative and design output of a small team of visual artists and copywriters. He was responsible for leading the BAT creative business on BAT managing two notable brands: Lucky Strike and Dunhill.

Highlights include the adaptation of the Global Experiential Platform Lucky Strike´s "F1 Tribe Art" featuring LS BAR F1´s team: Takuma Sato and Jenson Button.
 

The platform featured international and local creative artists such as renowned visual artist Julien Opie and Hussein Chalayan with the acclaimed short film “A place to Passage”.
